our story

I was born and raised on Bainbridge Island. I married when I was young. After twenty years of marriage, I became a single mother with four beautiful children. Without external support, I had to find work outside of my home. I had to make a career. Families are work. And I knew how to work!

I founded Hope Cleaning in 2020 and slowly built a book of business on Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap. Hope Cleaning was no longer just my hope. It became my reality and the economic engine for supporting my family. 

One thing I discovered in my years of cleaning is a strong regional demand for high-quality domestic cleaning services built upon humane relationships and supported by good business practices. Hope Cleaning was aspirational, the Kept Cottage puts my values front and center. 

The mission of The Kept Cottage is to provide remarkable home care and cleaning services.  Our purpose is grounded in affection for the places and people where we live. It is also anchored in a belief that when the economic decisions we make about domestic care and cleaning services reflect our shared values, everyone wins!
